Be Teachable
I came across this message on a wall and it stopped me in my tracks:
“Be teachable. You don’t know everything and you’re not always right.”
It hit differently.
Because no matter how long you’ve been creating, building, or leading this truth remains:
You’re still learning.
I’ve been in the design and branding space for years, and I’ve helped clients grow with strategy and intention. But even with experience, I’ve had to pause, relearn, and unlearn more times than I can count.
There were moments I thought I had it figured out until feedback humbled me.
Times I gave advice then watched someone take a better approach.
And seasons where I felt stuck not because I lacked talent, but because I resisted correction.
You Can’t Grow If You’re Not Willing to Be Wrong
Being teachable is not about having less value. It’s about valuing growth over ego.
It’s about knowing your skill doesn’t exempt you from blind spots.
It’s about inviting correction because your vision is bigger than your pride.
It’s about inviting correction because your vision is bigger than your pride.
In branding, in business, in life some of your greatest breakthroughs will come from the people who challenged what you thought you already knew.
You’re Good, But You Can Be Better
Let’s be honest. As creatives and brand builders, we sometimes become attached to our process, our style, our systems.
But the truth?
The market changes.
Audiences evolve.
Design trends shift.
And if you’re not learning you’re slowly becoming irrelevant.
That’s why I keep reading.
Why I keep asking questions.
Why I sit with clients and team members and truly listen.
Because I don’t want to just “create.”
I want to evolve.
And evolution requires humility.
A Note to You
If you’re a designer, brand owner, creative, or entrepreneur please don’t stop learning.Ask for feedback.
Be open to better ways.
Say “I don’t know” without shame.
Let your curiosity stay louder than your pride.
Because being teachable will take you places talent alone never could.
